The First Story
I can hardly remember what was the first story I heard. But most probably as my Mom told, it was the story about "Unity is Strength". The story revolves around an old persons who had 10 sons. But the sons were not united and quarreled with each other. On the death bed, the old man asked every boy to pick up a stick and break them with their hands. Each of them did so with ease. After that, the old man told them to pick up a bundle of ten sticks together and break it. None of them could break it, not even the strongest of them. Then their father told them that if they are separate, anyone can exploit them. But if they stand together with each other, no one can break them apart. Soon after, the man passed away and after that very day no one quarreled with each other and lived happily ever after.
This was most probably a lunch/dinner time story and was told to me by my Mom. This story teaches us about Unity.
